Frequently Asked
Questions

Are your classes fun? And safe?

Of course they are! We cater all of our classes to our students. We do a variety of games and activities that have kids laughing and smiling. We love to work hard - but we play just as hard! As for safety, we place a huge focus on safety and injury prevention, we're proud to say that injuries are very few and far between in our studio. In fact, because martial arts gets you in great shape, and improves strength and flexibility, people often see LESS injuries in their lives.

My child isn't athletic, can they still try martial arts?

Absolutely. We actually specifcally work on coordination, flexiblity, and stregnth inour classes. Students who don't naturally have these qualities develop them with time. And if you child is already coorindate, they will hone in on their skill!

What's a good age to start martial arts?

Frankly, begining martial arts at any age is a good age to start! We have young children, as well as teenager and adult programing. So no matter what age - you're in the right place!

Do you have to be in good shape to start martial arts?

Not at all! Many of our students use martial arts as a way to get in good shape. We have seen many of of students transform from out of shape, to athletic and limber!

Is martial arts violent?

No it is not. Many people belive because self-defense technique is taught in martial arts, it is inherently violent. However, the philosophies behind martial arts revolve around peace and harmony. The goal of the movements we teach are to become more connected with your body. But, if a violent situation ever arises in your life, you'll have powerful tools to defend yourself and your loved ones.

Can you join if you come form another school or different style of karate?

Students from other schools are always welcome. We teach students from different styles all the time! We teach each student at the appropriate level in Shaolin Kempo Karate and you may keep your rank!
